Sacred 2 NOT LAUNCHING fix for Windows 11

Step 1

Install Sacred 2 Gold

Step 2

Install these for your computer

I recommend clicking start - typing "appwiz.cpl" and hit enter to open the classic add remove programs window from the control panel.

If you see any of these remove them- before installing correct ones. in the future if these links are broken just search on google:

nvidia legacy driver and nvidia PhysX system software. You need both.

Step 3

In Steam, right click Sacred 2 Gold and go to properties to add these launch options just copy and paste the text below.

-nocpubinding -skipopenal

Step 4

In Steam, right click Sacred 2 Gold - Manage - Browse Local Files

Open System Folder

Go down and find the sacred 2 exe launcher - right click - properties - compatibility tab up top -

Set the following:

Run this program as an administrator

**Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / Windows me**

**UPDATE** This caused performance issues for me. Only do it if nothing else works but I would skip it for now. The game glitched a LOT and now runs completely smooth without it selected. I don't believe this is needed but will leave it here just so people are aware this can mess up the game if you are using it. I only discovered this because when my brother selected it the game ran completely crappy opposed to running without it and was amazed how much smoother my game play was at max settings and 1440 resolution.

(This is the launcher steam uses so don't use your own shortcut when opening the game, open it from steam)

I tried all of that and could not get it to work. I did disable fullscreen optimization, and it worked. Right click the exe and choose compatibility.

Interesting have not seen that one.. good to know for others to try if it still does not launch.

Hey man, the game started working which is amazing, but I have another problem, every line of text is missing, and I mean literally everything. Is there a solution to this?

Found a solution, all it took was to add 2 entries to the registry, everything is explained in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLZcbT8xsoY

In my case, disabling Afterburner helped. Apparently the game doesn't like these modern programs with performance charts.

Oh, a lot of games don't like Afterburner and such. I uninstalled that years ago and my games work much better, lol.
