Radeon aticfx32.dll crash on startup ->Resolved<-
So, I have the Radeon cared issue where it's popping up the "aticfx32.dll" error message(seeing a lot of those in the forum), and the general consensus is that manually installing the latest PhysX and the DirectX and VC redist from the folder should fix it. Well, DirectX and PhysX are installing fine, but the "vcredist_x86" will only unpack, then flash a screen that I can't quite read before going away, with no trace of any additional or new programs in task manager. I waited around for a couple of minutes to see if it was just lagging, but nothing has popped up, and the 2010 redist wont install as I already have the latest package. So, is it that package? Or does anyone know of something else it might be?

I am currently running on:
HP 2000 Laptop
AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.00 Ghz
4 GB RAM
Windows 8.1, Pain and Loathing edition

I've checked for updated drivers and everything, I've got the latest from AMD(all bloatware included!), and I've yet to see a resolution. Any help is appreciated, Here is the text in the error message that keeps popping up:

driver:[aticfx32.dll]
graphicscard:[AMD Radeon HD 8400 / R3 Series]
device:[\\.\DISPLAY1]
cPhysics::init-NXcreatePhysicsSDK failed
SacredApp::setupEngine()physics init failed!
SacredApp::setup()setupEngine failed!
App::Setup() failed!

I've already tried editing the options file for loading in windowed mode. IT loads a window, and then crashes. Same error message.

Goto Nvidia.com and install the latest PhysX Legacy drivers. It did the same error on my system running a Ati Radeon HD 7770 2 Gig card. As soon as I installed the PhysX drivers, the game started up.

I did that first thing, just last night. No effect.

Okay, looks like the version of PhysX I downloaded off a direct link on this forum was for a version from January(9.12.1031), so I uninstalled that, and installed the latest version(9.13.1220) and it works now!

So, if anyone else is having this problem, make sure it's the latest version. If you followed a forum link to it, you probably didn't so just google PhysX and download off of the link directly from the Nvidia website. Forum links are going to be outdated, it seems.

Glad to hear you're up and running! Good job.

Thanks Se Ga Takai, installing that driver fixed the problem for me.
