It does. But you might (if the game doesnt start) need to install or reinstall the nvidia physx driver.
It's suggested you should
1) unsintall your current physx driver (if you have it)
2) install the "legacy" physx driver from program files/steam/steamapps/common/sacred 2 gold/redist/physx
3)install the latest nvidia physx driver either with your graphic card driver or from here http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html

Apart from that the things to bear in mind are:

There are no more multiplayer servers so you need to set up your own.

It's more demanding than torchlight or diablo 3, but a computer than can play skyrim on 'high' can play this game fine on maximum settings.

There is a community patch which fixes broken quests etc which you should obtain only from this link http://xmas.ancaria.net/patches/cm-patch0140hf.zip

installed and runs without issue on my win7 64 laptop and my brothers vista 64 desktop, dont quite know how so many people run into issues getting this game to work, works right out the gate for me when i install it

Hi !

I have 2 AMD Radeon HD 7970 (in Crossfire) and had problem running the game under 64 bit Win/7.

Now the game runs very well on my PC. It seems that in my case, installing the PhysX_9.09.0203_SystemSoftware.exe version of the PhysX driver made a big difference (i had a much more recent version of it installed before and I uninstalled it before installing the 9.09.0203 version). I don't understand why you recommend installing the most recent version of PhysX over it : will it not replace the legacy driver ?

I think I will try the community patch you suggested.

I have Window 7 (64-bit) and the game keeps getting a CTD. Oh well, at least I didn't pay a lot for it. It won't run. =(

It will. Installing the old version first is so you have some now deprecated files (dlls or whatever).

I didn't need to do that but I can't be sure that's not because I had them on this pc already (it's 4 years old). I'm just relaying something I was told. Like for some others: the game worked fine for me as is, didn't need to do anything.

I have it working on Win 7 x64 its only needed to install the latest Physx from nvidia site(the ♥♥♥♥ Geforce experience didint installed the last Phyx only the driver)

The lobby system is down you only can play on Lan but im installing TUNNGLE(tunngle.net) to play online trough lan i hope to meet more players there :)

There is a Elite Textures Pack that came with Collectors Edition version you can find it to download on torrents(reloaded full game tell your torrent application to only download Disc 3 because this is the Textures disc the others are the game that you already have)

ITS NOT ILLEGAL TO DOWNLOAD ONLY THE TEXTURES PACK its on the official forums from sacred2.com that you can do this.

After installed the Textures a new option on Graphics menu will allow you to choose Elite Textures.

PhysX driver must be installed and run the game in compatibility mode for windows vista and after his walking. Good game to you :)

I don't honestly know about this point. The version in the sacred 2 redist folder is 9.10.0513, whereas the nvidia site "legacy physx system software" is 9.13.0604.

Runs fine on win 8 64. Needed to restart PC, that's it.
