Seraphim: Flaring Nova and BeeEffGee
With mods to increase range, stun opponents and do more damage, the flaring nova can soften up all around you and stun then.
The BeeEffGee modded for damage and kept up to max level, is enough to one shot every normal enemie.
So you can round around, gather some enemies, shock them with Flaring Nova and mow em down with the BeeEffGee.
Problem: It takes a while until cooldown and damage will be up to a point you like it, since the BeeEffGee has a lot of regen penalty.
High Elf: Blazing Tempest/ Galcial Thorns or Meteor Strike/Raging Nimbus
The High Elf is the definition of AoE killing in one combo.
Problem: The aiming. While the Dryads Darting Assault is auto aim and the Ravaged Impact can be modded for auto aim, the spells of the High Elf are blocked by any obstacle and/or have to be manually cast in the path of the enemies.
Inquisitor: Clustering Maelstrom and Levin Array
The Clustering Maelstrom pulls enemies together and damages them (go for more damage and range mods, to pull a large group and soften them up). Levin Array should be modded for higher range and not angle, since the Maestrom is pulling them together either way. (and then the crit gold mod)
Problem: Not quite as powerfull as the High Elf
Dragon Mage: Destroyer and Tornado/ Maelstrom and Energy Blaze
Go for more damage and more destroyers with the mods, they don't need to live longer. Your choice how to mod the Tornado. ^^ Both spells are auto-aim.
Mealstrom and Energy Blaze works like the Inquisitors combo. Gather a group of enemies and cast the combo either on the first one or lure them in a way, that you can hit the rangers to pull everyone together and finish them with the blaze.
The Maelstrom doesn't do damage, so go for armor reduction and further attribute decrease so that the Blaze does more damage.
Problem: A weak combo overall, since the blaze is also more like a debuff and dot.
If you want more weapon based ranged damage on multiple enemies, I am afraid the Dryade is you only choice. The Seraphim with her BeeEffGee has one crazy powerfull ranged weapon and is able to inflict a lot of damage with Soul Hammer and Pelting Strikes. Her Battle Stance further amplifies the damage of the BeeEffGee (if you go for concentration to carry two buffs). But it is alll single target.
The Shadow Warrior with bows and Scything Sweep could be another choice. With Rousing Command and Killing Spree (and Augmenting Guidon, if you stay static for a while) he can buff his attacks quite well.... but I think the animation with bows looks silly.
I feel like with just community patch and no Enhanced Edition, the density of mobs won't get past a point that my patience can handle. Time will tell though haha.
Edit: Side note: anyone know of a mod to make BFG not look like a mobile home antenna? D:
