Stuck in Expansion Area

I beat the game on silver and started on gold difficulty. Immediately after starting, I decided to teleport to one of the expansion areas. Since I didn't activate any way points on the main continent, now I can't teleport back. Is there any way to get back to the continent or restart my campaign data?

How did you teleport there? If not mistaken there should be a captain available in Thylisium.
Also, there should be a captain available - near a baloon most likely - that should give you the option to jump back to the main land as well.


And in case you got the CM patch installed, you should be able to teleport to the starter's island and use a portal from there to jump to Sloeford.

You may have hit a stone wall there, because the harbour captains aren't automatically activated on the main game area (you need to activate them manually by interacting with them for the first time). Plus if you haven't activated any monolith or portal on the main land I'm afraid there's no way you can return...

I think you can only teleport to starter's island after you do Ancaria Airlines?! Otherwise the portal is deactivated as well I believe.

You are correct, the balloon captains cannot take me to harbor on the mainland since none of the harbors are activated. There is no choice to go to the Starter Island because I haven't done the Ancaria Airlines quest on this difficulty.

D'oh! Well, that's a pretty serious bummer.

I think that it's possible to teleport via command line, let me check with the folks on DarkMatters.

Hey man. Do the following:

- Start multiplayer -> LAN -> Free Play (in Gold with your current save game)
- You'll start at MP Island, from there enter the cave near the smith and teleport to the first region
- Depending on where you land (can't really remember the spot) try searching for a portal nearby and activate it
- Save and quit, then start single player and load your character in Gold, that same portal should now be active

If this doesn't work let me know.

There's a portal near the docks of the starter's island, leading you directly to the market of Sloeford. The moment you enter a city, the portal will be activated, so after that; jumping back to the previous region won't be a problem at all.
No need to go to MP to get to the starter's island, as the CM patch has that one open at all times.

I did need to start a MP game. I have the 1.60 CM patch, but the portal on the Starter Island still wasn't activated.

Glad you were able to solve it! I was also under the impression that the portal on Starter's Island was only active after doing Ancaria Airlines, guess it's a fact then.
