create a text file and name it optionsCustom.txt
input the text between the dashes
-----------------------------------------------------------------
camera = {
cam1_rotx_emax = -1.57,
cam1_rotx_max = -1.57,
cam1_trackdist_max = 1800,
TPOMax = 85,
}
render = {
compass = 1,
}

I know that if you delete options.txt a new one will be created with default settings so having an optionsCustom.txt won't give you the benefit of backing up the default settings.
BUT
It does make it easier to edit your custom settings if you'd like to edit them.
You now have instructions for:
1. Where to download (and how to install) a fully optimized (and visually identical) version of the "Elite Texture Pack" that was once sold separately in stores!
2. Where to download (and how to install) the "Reduced Fog Mod!" Enjoy!

But i just realised that there are no longer any PhysX effects. Is it by reason ? Or just a bug i have.
If you want to keep all the changes from the patch but also keep the leaves, the file is in the PAK folder, and called "physxExt". If you swap it out with the original version, you'll get your leaves back. Just bare in mind it COULD make the memory leak crash return. Everyone's system is different, and I couldn't tell you if this was the true culprit. Been too scared to try it myself because I finally got my game perfect after all these years. lol
Gotta say, I do miss the leaves though. I have a 1080ti and an i7, so performance is never an issue for me. Here's the Dark Matters link from someoe who had the exact same question, and the response from one of the patch's developers which I simply parroted for you here on Steam.
