First post on this topic, Gogo is sleeping so I was told to give you all the good news.
The CM Patch team has been working hard to have this new version ready for final release. At the moment there's a semi-final release (still technically Beta) available for dowload at DarkMatters. The link is the same that Gogo posted initially and the first post there has been updated for this release.
I can speak for myself when I say that I've been running the game virtually crash free for a couple of months now, so this is really something you guys should test. Any and every feedback is deeply appreciated, don't be shy. Also if there are questions about it feel free to post on that topic. We'll be there to help.
I hope you all can have fun playing the game as stable as it it now.
Cheers!
After all this time I got finally time to test this beta. Maybe to late to be of any value for the team, but there isn't much I have to point out, though. ^^
I played five hours straight until it crashed. Normally I can't play this long, so nothing to complain here. xD Anyone needs the crash report?
Most things are just working fine. Ship ports, Air Balloon port and Travel Agent NPCs working fine.
Running around in circles for horses and with meele combos really works fine (mean, is fixed) (a big point for me since I mostly play meele).
Camera in boss battles is fixed, that always bothered me especially in the final battle.
"Percents, not flat numbers, are now correctly shown in tooltips for Combat Discipline and Speed Lore. "
Thanks thousand times for that!
Stackable runes are great for saving space. Is there a way to lay a rune from a stack into the Rune Masters slots? Having to seperate them to do so is a bit boring... but a little price for the benefit. ^^
"Ogre clan Champion designs: Grurag (blue) and Ore-Thag (red) are activated and added to Nor Plat. "
I can confirm this. But I have to say, the blue one doesn't do anything. He has the symbol to speak with him, doesn't attack and isn't attackable.
"All characters now have voiced comments when accepting new quests. "
Where do you get those from? Some of them are really cool! xD
Onliest seen bug:

At some point, those two in Nor-Plat have been doubled. Not really copies of each other, since they had different items to sell.
Thanks for all the work, I will greatly enjoy meele Shadow Warrior for a while. ^^
Thanks for the comment!
Could you plese repost at the Beta topic on DarkMatters please? That way the code wizards may be of help to you.

Regarding rune stacks, hit SHIFT+Letf click to select the amount to be unstacked. Unfortunately you'll need to unstack one by one for the Runemaster, that's the caveat of rune stacking. There were instances of Champion mobs not attacking but those have been corrected, so it could be a local issue. Nevertheless if you can drop by the Beta topic you'll have more information on it.

Thank you! I've wanted to play this game for so long but have always had random crashing and freezing issues resulting in lost progress. I've tried to just trudge through and work around it but it gets old and there are plenty of other arpgs, even if they aren't as unique as this one.
I downloaded this newest CM patch today and played for hours with no problems. Thanks to all the modders for all your effort in letting this game reach its fullest potential! Without the bugs it truly is a gem in the genre, and could be a contender for my favorite. Now that I can play it!
btw i can't see leaves? I got physics set on, i started a new char, i dont see leaves blowing in the wind, any idea?
Beware though that PhysX was one of the main causes for crashes, so this means that your game could still crash. So it's possible to keep the full effects of PhysX but at the possible expense of stability. Your mileage may vary here so no promises.
NOTE: A couple potential tips for any who may run into issues with manipulating inventory:
-- I found that I had problems with manipulating inventory, I had remembered this issue from older days also.
-- I did two things to fix it:
1) Disabled Steam Overlay
2) Made both Sacred.exe and s2gs.exe run in Windows XP Service Pack 3 Compatabililty mode.
I tried both simultaneously to save time, and the issue was fixed. I also had turned off auto-equip.
It is possible it was only a prologue problem and that my earlier changing of the Autoequip in game from yes to no had borked it up.
But I vaguely remember I had this issue in the original Sacred 2 Gold at some point and the solution was as above. One of those steps should fix it if any of you run into the issue.
NOTE 2:
Interestingly enough, even if you delete your old characters and uninstall/reinstall then add 160 hotfix community patch, you will still have items left installed in your Travelling Storage Imp.
I've decided to sell those off as I go, in order to avoid issues since nothing there is that great. I may leave the runes to use still however for trading.
No CommunityWorkshop for Sacred 2. :(
