Frequent crashes
Hi all,

I'm enjoying the game, but get fairly frequent crashes - the game freezes often when I fast travel, and occasionally just randomly when I'm walking around. Anyone else had this issue? Running on Windows 10.

I dont have W10 and so I cannot answer reliably but if you search the forum for 'Windows 10' you might find something
Best I can say is to set the compatibility to W7 or even XP - or something like that
and try adding this to the launch options
-nocpubinding -skipopenal

I am on Win7 but had a continous crash prob recently. I must have updated the physx driver for another game, so i rolled it back to the one included here and it works again.
dont know if this info will help you but my research found that S2 is delicate with upgraded drivers.

Yes the game needs the legacy Physx drivers which are included in the program folder

I just tried to play disk version with I&B and its crashing/freezing a lot. Too bad it seems gold has the same issues as I was thinking of rebuying. Game surprisingly didn't get that old, still looks great. UI would need some big screen redoing but with crashes and freezes I don't think I'll buy it.

I recommend buying the digital version from Steam or Gog and applying the community patch
It runs very smoothly and well for me and with no crashes
it's only $3 right now on sale

Yea. I bought it:D 1st crash after 42 minutes:) But not KERNELBASE one or freeze but Visual Studio. I should have known it. Using Seraphia nova on bunch of enemies with physx leaves... but before - teleport to obelisk, teleport through map entering/exiting the cave and bunch of above mentioned novas and it runs fine:)

I never use Physx myself
I dont like the effects and I always found it destabilized the game

It appared 1.60 community patch is super stable for me (I keep my special mounts there:)). Several hours without the crash.

There's a new version available on DarkMatters. Try it: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/23082-community-patch-160-beta-test-release/

Sorry if you guys think that I'm spamming, but I'm just spreading the word at the moment. The more people try this Beta version the more quickly it can become final.
