Multiplayer is overrated.
I honestly hope it'll be optional or a separate mode.

Multiplayer is fine, except for the other people.

Ew multiplayer! I was hoping for some sort of wave based enviroment or something. Been overplaying the "hanger" map for weeks...

If you really want to add multiplayer, then add zombie escape like left4dead/ back4blood kinda thing.

Please no Battle Royal. Something wave based tower defense like Gears of Wars horde mode or Killing Floor would be a better fit for this game. The ground work for it is already ingame. Just run with it.

Battle Royal is a very competitive genre and finding a niche spot is near impossible. You will be wasting your time putting effort in developing it.

A good example is from one of my favorite game series, DreadOut. The devs wanted to follow the trend of asymmetric PvP game. It died on release. The dev made a single/co-op mode to keep the game up and going.

the building mechanic in fortnite is pretty complex and innovative

Your dev team is very small. Battle Royal will require you to add on a anti-cheat along with other things. Once your game is full of cheaters, there is no saving it. If a big company has problems doing it, your team chances are very slim.

As for the building mechanic, how would it fit in Killing Antidote? The main reason why it was so successful so far is due to people wanting something akin to a Resident Evil game. Adding Fortnite building mechanic does not overlap very well with the RE style of gameplay.

Try to keep focus on what is working so far and build up on it. It is very easy to see something shiny and wanting to add to an already tall work order.

If you want to do a zombie building game, save it for your next project and keep it PvE just like Fortnite: Save the World mode. That is a niche that is lacking a game to fill.

This game might be in line with your vision of fortnite/killing antidote but leaning more on survival.

I think that is correct. And this gives more freedom to explore that various other games in same genre don't have, which is nice.

Some people have mentioned survival shooters like Killing Floor, but there are already a lot of games like that. Base building might be fun but it can be very very complicated, there are games entirely designed for that genre already as well.

Best approach (in my opinion) would be looking at what other games are lacking. And I think this is already on the right path with survival and story elements.

Multiplayer is overrated, plus we already have too many co-op games that nobody plays.

NPC teammates would be much better.

i will not be interested in multiplayer
single player is jank enough as is, object interactions are wonky, things clip through etc. controls get stuck etc, it's a long list of small things

what i like the most is how complex the 'dungeon' is, it's several times larger than RE2 remake, gets the suspenseful mood just right. it's really fun getting lost and feeling lost, even if the architecture makes absolutely no sense

i will even get over the senseless 'boss duels'

i rather the visuals/animation improve to become a more presentable attractive package, and more areas to explore, and face even more creative combat scenarios, most of which found outside story mode in challenges

on a 4060TI i can run most games more than fine, but for this game my GPU can fry enough eggs for a 5-people breakfast, i'm not impressed
