Another variable is how the passengers think the price is cheap or expensive. That depends on the routes. So as soon as you open new lines the feel of the prices will dramatically change. For example, if you have a tram line that go only a few miles and then you open a brand new line that goes in a very desired area and serve a lot of people, the feel of tram ticket price will be much better than before, as many passengers will be willing to pay more to go on that new good route.
So basically ticker prices are very annoying. At the beginning of the game I put all of them red and thats it. Then the system wont send me messages about ticket prices being expensive or cheap. Once you have a lot of passengers and you cover most of the city, ticket prices will be a lot more stable.
Will the people even buy enough tickets then? I right now have the issue of having to start a good coverage I started from the campaign map's lower right and the rural area and the working place area are coverd, as soon as I did it everything was dropped 3 times.
So if I just ignore the warnings and the "this is too high" and put all to red at the beginning I wil be making money instead of losing it?
And on that matter if this problem is so well known, I think the system should be applied differently until you have like 20 000 passanger's or smth maybe even 5000 get's more stable :)
Thanks man you answer me the most! :D and you know stuff!
People will buy the tickets even in red color. But less people will buy and more will try to cheat, so make sure your increase the number of inspectors and you will make a lot of money giving fine. Usually the best balance of profit and amount of inspectors is 30% of dodgers being catch. Once you have a better system with good capacity decrease the prices and you get more passengers. Its possible to have profit in both ways.
