Tomb Raider 3 crashes and won't save settings

Where is this game installed on my hard drive ?? Can seem to locate it. Shortcut goes back to URL for Steam.
I have a patch for TR 3 ready to use to attempt to solve these issues but, nowhere to place it.
What can I do to solve these issues ?

game is where your steam program is installed.
steam/steamapps/common
games are located there.

Have sorted through problems and now it works... (and there was much rejoycing, yea)
If anyone is having the same problems (game crashes exiting main menu or set up sound, won't save graphics & keyboard configurations) try to contact me, if you can, I may be able to help you out.

My solution. I went to www.TRLE.net and downloaded the custom TR level called "Vision of Future" by LaraHCroft91. Unzipped into a dummy folder. Started the game and configured the settings (keyboard controls, sound, graphics, etc.) and exited the game. Then I went to the steam folder where TR3 is installed. Removed TWO files and replaced them with the same two files from the dummy folder (where Vision is located) and it works very well. They are [] AND []
I'm using Windows 7. The location of the steam folder is C:Program files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Tomb Raider (III)

Really? I'll try this, but it's kinda annoying... Should have bought on gog ^^
