Which is the best between 2,3,4,5

I already played Tomb raider Anniversary so the remake of the first one, i don't need to buy the retro game, also played legend and underworld as well as the one of 2013 but i want to play the old ones. I will buy two games but i don't know if I should take 3 and 4 or 4 and 5 or maybe even the second and 3....
I need an advice from someone who played these games.

I know also that there are lot of bugs... and crashes so I hope there are some patches to install

Well, I'd argue that Anniversary is different from Original in many, many ways. It's only the story that stays the same. There's definitely replayability in this one. But the downside being it needs a bunch of 3rd party tools for the optimal experience (there are steam guides)

Then we have another problem: the greatness of a title is mostly subjective. Most people would pick between 2-3-4 while claiming 5 is the weakest of the series.

I personally like 2 because of its atmosphere. Each different titles has a different atmosphere.
Another thing I could mention that during recent sale all titles went for 99 cents each.

If you play in fullscreen with widescreen patch applied to the games then you shouldn't experience any crash-related bugs. So I don't know from whom you're hearing about "lots of bugs".

Ok thanks a lot for the response I will maybe wait until a good sale arrives for this games and take the first one if it's different of Anniversary (not story wise but gameplay...) like you said .
PS: I bought yesterday Rise of tomb raider for 16.49€ (67% off ^^)

Ok thanks you for giving your opinion i think I'm more interested by the third and four from what I saw in lets play's. I think i will take them all maybe when they cost 0.99 each apart of the sixth one from what I saw and read it's the worst one and that's what cause the end of core design tomb raider games.

I'd say that the first TR will always be the best. But if you've gotta choose between 2-5 I'd say that the best is 3 if you want a true challenge and quite different levels. TR4 has this enchantment of Egypt, it's pretty difficult but with a lack of variation beyond sand and such, BUT has this thing called "Gods"... big deals and mythology in that game.

Like the rest of the comments, I agree that TR5 is the decay of the series. No good TRs after TR4, not even the "newest" for PS4 would reach the greatness of the first four TRs.

Tomb Raider 1 has the best atmosphere.

Tomb Raider 2 is decent, but has too much of a focus on fighting human enemies.

Tomb Raider 3 is one of my favorites, as it's one of the first I owned.

Tomb Raider 4 is the best.

Tomb Raider 5 is crap

Tomb Raider 6 is a disaster

Tomb Raider Legends is.. meh

Tomb Raider Anniversary is one of the best.

Tomb Raider Underworld is MEH

Tomb Raider 2013 is good

Rise of the Tomb Raider is good.

Don't forget to try out the custom levels you can download for free. Experiment Budapest 3 for example I found almost superior to the classic Tomb Raider games.
