And nowadays ... I'm very much slower. But the old Tomb Raider games are a journey back in time for me and I enjoy visiting the old places and I'm taking my time.
And JoeSlow, you're so right, I also love to go forward slowly, taking time to remember the old times as a kid. :)
A big reason TR1, 2, 3 and 4 were so long was because of how well optomized the engine was. It allowed the PS1 to render gigantic maps easily.
Tomb Raider 4 of course remains the longest TR game with the most levels. Though a lot of them are transitionary levels for the hubs.

Good, tough, oldschool game. It was really good playing it after long time.
