Hi, i am wondering how do i get tr2 golden mask DLC on steam?

Then launch tr2_setup. You can choose to patch the original TR2 and to also install TR2 Gold.

If i just patch this in my tr2 folder in steam it won't interfear with my saved progress and stuff?

All I can say is it shouldn't. The patch doesn't do anything to savegames, however it MIGHT edit the level files and that could potentionally cause problems if you don't want to start a new game.
What I would do is go right to the end of the level you're playing right now, stand like a step or two away from the end, then install the patch and after you load your game, end the level immediately. The next level will load properly... in theory. That's how it works in TR4 and it makes sense for it to be the same in TR2, but you never know.

I wouldn't, honestly. If you already got to The Dragons Lair, then don't update TR2. Just select "Install TR2 Gold".
