Local Coop is finally here!
Hello everyone! :mojito:

In the past months we have received many emails and read many requests to add local coop.
We now have local coop in the game, but you will notice its a different kind of coop as the online coop mode.

In this version you will control a "soul" that can play together with the main character. After trying this, we have been discussing a few ideas to improve this area as letting the player choose the type of "soul" and have souls with different skills and properties. This is work in progress so send us your thoughts and feedback!

This was no easy task, but we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Thanks! :mojito:

I will now consider this game. Thanks.

This is so weird; I've just tried this for the first time in local coop and always assumed it had it.

I find the soul is pretty underpowered without any special abilities and is not that fun for the other player. I think other types of souls, with their own abilities are a must.

Thanks!

Men, you are not headed in the right direction here. This is absolutely not the way coop' has to be implemented. You need to make it possible to choose everything for both players (LOAs, power-ups, skin etc.) and to add a second inventory for the second player, for example by moving the present central hub to the bottom-left of the screen and adding a second one on the bottom right. And the 2 players should be able to choose different LOAs for synergistic effects. Seriously, I'm disappointed here. At least, you must let the players choose the way they want to play coop' (normal mode, like in online coop', and your "soul mode", if you want to add it). But for now, sorry, it's not fun to play the local coop' as is.

I'm just saying it all for you to understand that it's definitively NOT what us players are expecting. Take it into consideration, for the best of your already good, and still very promising game.

@TibZ yes, two chars each one with inventory and skills its a lot better. We just can't do it with the way we have coded the game, but don't forget you can still enjoy that kind of gameplay playing online. This local coop mode is just an extra way to play the game. And thinking about it, it has a lot of potential! In later stages we could think about way of expanding this to different kinds of souls and unlockable souls!

will you raise the player-count of local coop to 4 in the future?
PK Mar 24, 2014 @ 7:18am
what if the soul for player two was able to pick from any item combination that player one has unlocked (maybe with some soul only extras)?? It's okay if they can't actively level up as long as they stay on par in some way with player one... otherwise it's just no fun
Will buy if the game ever receives a fully functional local coop mode.

Does this game have fully functional local coop mode yet?

Another option would be the splitscreen tool (http://steamcommunity.com/app/49520/discussions/0/864977025916708574/?l=german)

but i dont know if it works with full mojo rampage - i'll try it in near future, because i am really intrested in the game, but i dont own it yet and dont got the time for it...
(only intrested because of the possible local coop - i stopped playing most of the online stuff... real conversation, real friends - that is what counts ;) )

1. I love this game like crazy. The production value of it is crazy good. I really hope it gets better known with the Humble Bundle sale.
2. I agree with the idea of adding "true" local coop. I think the solution (depending on your code) is adding "Profiles" that you can select. When you click Play, you select your quest, then instead of going to the Character screen it first asks you which Profile you want to use, or to create a new Profile. When playing Couch Coop and player 2 or 3 or 4 hits their Start button, then it pauses the game and asks which Profile they will be using. If they haven't created one then they get the ghost/guest or they need to start over and create one. Everyone shares gold/xp/pin/mask unlocks (including voodoo codes).

Fairly simple way ot implementing it I think because their camera system is perfect already when doing coop imo.

Would love to see this!

On top of that, if its implemented you could do a 33% off Sale and have Steam "Feature" it as a Free Play weekend game because you implemented "Local Coop Update!"

Win/Win!

@Spitfire: I think we have a lot of new players now. This community so far has been AMAZING, but we didnt get covered by any press, and that hurts sales a lot. Out release was not featured on front page for some reason, and that hurt too. About local coop: its complex because of the code related to inventory, camera, etc is done for a single player on a single screen. It can be done, but will be time extensive. If magically we start selling a lot or the console version shows a success we can go back and review plenty of things! Oh my, so many game modes and extra quests I want to do :) Thanks for the comments :)
