I only manage "big teams" and when i get the inevitable sack sometimes in later seasons i apply even for 2nd league teams and continue. But its harder than managing already established teams sometimes you need full overhaul of the squad and coaches...

Indeed. Albeit this tactic actually did well on bigger teams as well, atleast that is what some wrote. But it was created for the smaller and mid tier leagues.
