Players worth so little
Players that play for my club are always worth less than rival clubs. For example at tottenham romero is 4 and a half stars and just signed a new contract yet is worth less than 100m. But lisandro martinez who is a much worse player is worth at least 140m?

Are you kidding? It is so easy to buy low and sell high in this game. Stop fretting about one player and get good.

I only used that as an example, it happens with all my players. It’s not like it affects me that much since like you said it’s easy to sell for profit. I was just wondering why it happens. Like maybe if the game just makes players for other clubs have an inflated value or something.

The price for players of other teams is so high because it shows how much they value the player (what they would be willing to accept), instead of their real value. Whereas for us, we see our players' real value/worth.

But it's kind of ridiculous when I was in the German Bundesliga 2 and sold a player (amazing 18yo CD) for about 4M and change. No way to get more money as I had already pushed and refused many deals. Everyone was gunning for him and offers were as low as 1M. He went to Man City, never played for a season, is now worth 60 or 70M and has been named in the top 50 youth prospects in the world.
I didn't have to sell him as he still had a long contract to run, but he was just making too many antics with the squad. In a way, a player that goes off to Man City will (probably) shoot up in value, but even Man City have to play top money for wonderkids that have long contracts.
I will give an example. Jérémy Doku. Man city played 60M for a player worth (according to transfermarkt, 28M). Obviously there are clubs like Brighton (just an example) that manage to find "unknown" players for nearly nothing and turn then into great assets, but in my case in FM, I had over 10 big clubs looking at the player and many made a bit. There was no bid war, no nothing.
Adfing to all that, there were many players worse, older and worth a lot, lot more in the same division. I won promotion and even so, values were kind of stale.
