What's the deal with older titles being removed?
I've never played any of these games (I haven't the faintest idea about soccer lol) but it seemed interesting so I'm looking to get into it. I can't find an older title (but the DLC for 23 is still around???).
What's the deal with that?
If I were to uninstall the game and it be removed from Steam would I be able to reinstall it?

Hello, as mentioned in this thread licensing reasons mean we can't keep our older games on stores once our latest games releases. If you have a previous FM game in your Steam library you can uninstall/reinstall it.

If you own the game it doesn't go away from your library. I still have FM 18 in mine.

The reason they're de-listed from steam I think has to do with licensing agreements.

That's the general assumption, might or might not be true.

It would however be logical to assume it's mainly done for profit, since it's pretty lucrative to remove older games from the store in favor of the new one, considering people have to repurchase both the game AND the editor if they want updated rosters.

Cash is king.

Decided to see if I could find something confirming it one way or another and found a quote from Miles Jacobson from 2020. "Our licenses have run out on older versions, so we can't have them available whether paid or free" from his twitter. Featured in this article:

I have no reason to believe that's a lie, but, I also imagine it does prove profitable. Even then though, EA Sports/other yearly titles are usually bought enmass even with older editions floating around so I'd reckon it wouldn't be too damaging to their sales even if they were available on steam.

Wierd how other games manages to keep their titles on the Steam store with outdated licenses. It's one of those things that just doesn't add up and really scratches that part of the mind.

But hey, I don't actually know either. In any case, if it were in fact a lie, it wouldn't be the first time a company puts one in our faces while denying it. So there's that.

Personally I trust more in a persons greed than their words. It feels more reliable nowadays.

I mean, I posted this in another thread but 13 and 15 are missing from my library(not hidden, gone). So it seems some do get removed.

Both 13 and 15 are still there for me. I can still go and download all the FM's I've bought since FM09 on Steam (with that game being the reason I got a Steam account in the first place)

Did you get them from a 3rd party seller or something maybe? Sometimes those are stolen CD keys and get deactivated.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Nope. Don't touch those sites.

yeah you even still can pay them for content on FM 19 mobile version from ingame features but you won´t get nothing for it, I "bought" the same item over and over because I thought I didn´t purchse it somehow...and indeed I didn´t purchase nothing, just lost money. They (Steam or Sega) just took my money and never returned it to my Steam Account
