Prize Money vs Club Generated Income
Wondering what peoples thoughts would be on how FM/Sports Interactive could make making money more viable on the game. In modern football there are lots of ways clubs generate income which is hard to replicate in a game

Prize money from competitions is kept fairly realistic in game and as such you fall off pretty quickly as you progress through the years as income doesn't keep up with inflation in transfer cost, wages etc.

Also, board expectations dont relate to the value of the competition as higher rated clubs still have expectation to win minor trophies, such as the Carabao Cup, where success doesn't equate to any financial benefit. In fact, you end up in the red as you pay out way more in bonuses than you make in prize money

In one way to balance the game it should be reflected that board expectations are based around financial benefit and this would be different to the fans. It shouldn't be that the board of the elite clubs want success in the Carabao Cup

The other way, and with lack of ways to make money in the game, prize money for competitions should be much higher in the game than in RL. This would balance the game and give more longevity as it's impossible to keep up with inflation the further you get in the game. If prize money also increased as you progressed the game this would balance things out and would reflect to some extent how the elite clubs stay financially viable
