Shifting to "Attacking" just mean your base tactics will switch to a more agressive mode. What has it to do with 1/ Playing away 2/ Playing better ? If that's indeed what we should do , that's an issue...
FM24 has currently a massive issue with away games. Been simulating 4 times the same game against the 17th in the Serie A (while I'm third). Those guys play like ManCity and mine don't play my tactics. They should play tight and slow but they do the opposite, and they seem awfully slow. 4 games simulated, 4 losses, I have tried everything. 4 times the same game , my guys plays awful.
I wonder it that would mean the game wants me to win my next game, which is against FC Barcelona in quarters of Champions league, but I will change most of the squad anyway, that's not realistic, to say the least.
Maybe the away result is what reflect your team not the home result and home you are just being extremely lucky, food for through.
lets say you have 5 chance -
chance 1 you have 60% chance to score
chance 2 maybe is weaker player you have only 25% chance to score
chance 3 you get 50%
chance 4 you get 80%
chance 5 you get 15%
you can roll a dice and fail all of them, unlucky but totally possible.
the other team produce only 1 chance
his player has a 30% chance to score roll a dice and he is lucky (totally possible is a roll of damn dice! really not that hard to understand.)
you lose 0-1
Obviously there are many mechanics in game to lower the chance to lose to very small % but you will always have a chance to lose even if you are man city vs the weakest team ever
I have a video of an experiment like that.... they played 1000 times Man city vs a very weak team and recorded how many time Man won and how many the weak team won let me look for it!

Man city vs Leicester repeated more than thousand of times a few times Leicester won! And if you only look at your 1 season 1 match SH*T HAPPENS! you maybe got 1 of those time when Leicester beat Man why is so hard for people to accept chance? This is not a math game you will never be SURE to win no matter what.
the fact you have more possession and more shot mean you had a HIGHER chance to win but you can still as easily lose (well not so easily because the AI was pretty damn lucky)
I don't understand why people expect to win if they have better GX if you understand "chance" you know you can always lose UNLESS they do 0 shot (in that case is hard for them to score for sure!) but even it is a chance of them doing 0 shot due to the possession you have and other stats.
