Just give most of the responsibility to your staff. So all you do is buy players and pick the team.

There is - there's an XBox version which is more casual, and a mobile version which is pretty much mindless.

As James said you can set as much or as little of the responsibility to your staff as you want. Don't like hiring staff? Have your technical director or director of football do it. Don't like setting up scouts? Have your head scout or DOF do it. Your assistant manager can give all the team talks. You can even delegate the signing/contracting and release of players to your staff. My advice would be to delegate everything except one thing that sounds fun. Most people like signing and selling players so start with that. Next season delegate the signing and selling and do the scouting. Next season delegate back the scouting and do the training. That's how I learned and now I have a pretty good idea of what to do for each task and depending on how I feel I can micromanage or delegate everything and go on holiday except for transfer windows.

OP is right. I know about Xbox version, but I don't have Xbox. I know about staff responsibilities, but this game is too complicated in many more ways, not only responsibilities. I wish there was still Touch version for PC. It was perfectly balanced.

I totally agree with OP. This game is ruined by its over complexity. There should be a cut down version with an option to expand as and when ready. I bought it because it was on offer but doubt Ill ever play it.

There are videos on YT, infact they are abundant. But a video to explain what to do with your staff for EG is 20 mins plus. Really?? This is too much. And by Id say 75% so not like its 10% too much or whatever.

Your suggestion of automation is superb. But how do you do even that? Its not like there is a simple button or even a screen dedicated to this essential function. So again back on YT for a year to find out how......this is just painful.

I think your solution is best. Ditch this and start over with CM.

Crazy to think I want to give a FM my money but cant. Or wont again. Maybes if you got into this 10 r 20 years ago and grew with it then fair enough. But as it stands this is unworkable.

Its sad because to myself this game is actually a work of art. But other than current players returning I doubt it holds much appeal to new commers. I certainly would not recommend it.

In the staff page, there's a drop down called 'responcibilities'.
So, there kinda is a simple button for it and a dedicated screen to this essential function.
You don't need to watch a YT video for it, I've explained it in a single sentence.

The game lets you offload so much, it really can be far easier.
