Improvements??
Hi guys and gals, for those of you playing early access is there a noticeable improvement over last year's iteration or just a few minor tweaks?
i.e is there enough extra to warrant a purchase?

After so many untouched years they impproved the national pool. But I dont have the time to really test it over the years.

Match engine is very different n improved from fm23. It's probably the fastest processing game since I've been playing since fm19.

Import saves is a big deal too for build a nation and crazy challenges.

Buying and selling players seems improved.

23 was probably the one to skip. I feel 24 has more changes then the last couple versions easily

Went from FM 22 into this. Seems to be the same. There may be subtle tweaks in the background but, overall, only got this because the next is unity and, well, that's probably going to be riddled with issues and 2gb updates. The 'set pieces editor' is not that much of an improvement, you just go through some questions that set out set pieces in very much the same way they were set before. If you you're into minutiae analysis of in game results then you'll probably note some differences but, the big stuff is the same as it has been for aeons now. It still feels the same managing Colchester or Juventus, it still feels the same playing in the Champions League or in a Sunday League. It still feels the same managing in Japan as it does in Norway. It's still crap managing International teams. But hey, updated database. Oh, also, the stadiums still look nothing like in real life. Most of all old stadiums.

I really really like 24. To me it feels so much better than 23 and it’s still in beta. Waiting till full launch to pass full judgment but I think this is gonna be my favorite edition since I started in 18’.

The ME improvement is a big boost this year for players who enjoy playing in 3D, and a big leap compared to recent versions. I am having a lot of fun this year.

I'd say yes. I was very reluctant to get 24 as I didn't have a good time with 23 (sometimes it is just like that I guess). I enjoy the new match engine, it does look so so much better now (that itself is worth the buy imo). There also quality of life improvements. Having a good time so far. That being said, I question some stat choices. My personal bias aside but Barcelona being stat wise the superior team to Bayern Munich? Come the ♥♥♥♥ on.

Honestly I dont start my long term saves until the editor is out and the community starts to upload fixes and leagues.

I need Dave The Editors extra leagues and I need The Realism pack from Daveincid. I find any long term saves these are pretty much essential plus all of the usually graphic mods.

Cant forget the real name mod either.

Any team is capable of having 92% pass completion rate against Barcelona or City, even if you manage a tier 5 team.

Any team is capable of committing to inhuman tasks.

IFs movement is still terrible.

Wingers are still better IFs.

The throw in bug is back.

Defending is terrible.

No 10 movement is still too static and often invisible in matches unless you heavily tweak it, because it literally tends to occupy the same spot as a striker and often they bump into each other or act unisono.

They added 1 new role or 2, called them inverted and called it a day because the AI is now hardcoded with simply if =<2 men in the midfield or in central back line, the AI will join them and act as bad as the original defenders, this took 10 years to develop, code and implement.

They also added set piece coach if I remember right, ofc, the change for the sake of the change, I have to manage it on my own otherwise I will regularly concede.

ME has still the same flaws the previous iterations had. As usual, few tweaks here and there causing the huge issues on the other side.

over FM23 yeah considerably. once all the bugs like ai rarely-never rotating or using subs especially u21s/u18s. once injuries are toned down drastically, once long shots are toned down drastically.

The transfers do feel a lot more realistic, shame they didnt include some form of intermidary or discuss with agent for loaning interest, though you can always use the new cheat sell to Saudi Teams

The set pieces seem reskinned rather than refreshed and i dont like that you cant say manually set a set piece taker in match if you have someone set as in charge of set pieces.
u21s and u18s still duplicate tehe selected 1st team tactic rather than use their own individual tactics.

the ai still seem to stick to the exact same 6-12 or whatever small amount of DM biased set tactics it was in FM23 where virtually none of them use CM's and many dont use CAM's

The talking to players seems improved but still far too many negative reactions for no reason (except now theyve threw in some new wording like ''this is the 21t century your supposed to help us not be against us''

havent seen any sign of ''realistic use of high potential youngsters being used in low priority league matches''

90% of the time of players fail objectives you set they will still demand the rises even if its like drastically failed. and it seems like you can only use 1 objective at a time not do something like xx trainoing rating,& xx league match rating & xx goals/assists/clean sheets

Load FM23 save disables achievements for that save (or atleast it does within FM24) not sure if it can be continued in FM23 once loaded into FM24 havent tried

I could go on but im probably out of space steam doesnt say till you hit post

After 2 weeks of playing, I can't really say what is new anymore. New game, same old problems.

I come from 19 i played an entire season with Brescia in italian Serie B and at the moment i find 24 worse, it is too arcade imho

Players do not do what you ask them, it seems all already decided from the start of every 3D match, no matter the tactic you choose

Moreover there are too many goals, My CF with 11/20 in finishing scored 15 goals and i had an average of 3 goals scored x match totally unreal, also too many posts, crossbars and injuries even if often they are minor injuries

Hope to find The final Version much more tactical and loyal to what i ask My players to do and My team as a whole
