me and my friend playing the exact same tactic, he have had between 4 and 7 long term injuries from the starting 11 every season. On our 4th season now and atm he has 6 players out for between 4 and 9 month, i have barely had any injuries, 2 injuries so far, both long term, he have had 1 short term injuries for all those seasons so it seems a bit odd.
But sure its allways the tactic isnt it?
no it's the training and the resting too and a percentage of luck and i am sure they bumped up the rate because FM23 was definitely too low.
got my third injury just now 6-8 month.
Not complaining about the injury frequency, but it seems like short injury is almost none existing.
Its anti fun
The way I avoided it so far is by essentially deleting training and praying to rngesus in matches. which worked well for season 1 and 2, but now they need training because they are not as good as other teams , and im scared to let them do anything other than light training, because on testing, anything higher injuries just rapidly increase and also, i notice short term injuries are much less frequent than 6-9 month ones...which is annoying.
Got my Starting Keeper back, 2nd game back he's out another 8 weeks lol
I suspect this will be tweaked before full launch.
I did train consistently most of the year I gave them 1 week off at Christmas/new and another one toward end of the season

I started all match on BALANCED tactic without pushing unless necessary
and my training/resting routing was:
NO(red)-NO(orange)-NO(yellow)-FULL(yellow/green)-FULL(green)

I had 54% injury less than expected
this is the graph
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3062172742
33 injury the all season
2 major (one was the goalkeeper obviously)
8 Moderate
(expected total 72 that's why 53% less than expected)
until people post data like this is really hard to understand what is really going on
I'm pretty sure at the end of year round-ups they tell you how your team did injury-wise vs what was expected by your staff at the season's start.
But how do we know that it is accurate? How is it calculated? It seems more like subtle propaganda by SI to deflect any criticism about injuries.
Well, if it's going by league average you could just look up the other teams injury tables through the season to confirm, which I'm pretty sure is the metric it goes by.
Maybe take the amount of time lost in the league you are playing in real life and compare it to the amount of time lost in the league you are playing in, within your save.
Doesnt tell us anything because its based on your staff which is based on their ability, which even with 20 stats still rolls a dice to determine their information.
If you have less than 20 stats on your sports scientist its even more useless.
54% is based on your staff analysis which is just an RNG number based on their stats and a dice roll.
It would almost certainly be based off in-game numbers.
I decided to load up my 2023 save as Eastleigh in the Prem. Using the injury data from the prem in reality from 2022/23 https://theathletic.com/4612629/2023/07/02/injuries-premier-league-2022-23-data/ I decided to just do a quick comparison. I'm about half-way through the season (20 games out of 38) and have a total of 134 missed DAYS from injuries across the team. Just glancing at the real-life stats, most teams in the Prem had between 800 and 1200 lost days to injuries in reality. So, on that front the game is actually much more forgiving for total injury time lost. But, we already knew that, SI has said before for multiple years that injuries in FM are much less than reality. Unfortunately I can't see a way to look at past season injury tables in the game, but I am almost certain I never had anything even remotely comparable to some of the numbers from that article in terms of time lost.
Just glancing at this real-life numbers, I can't ever think of a time I had a season like some of the teams in reality did, not even close.
