Why should I buy this update?

This should have been released as an update to FM2023 owners, just as FM23 should have been released to FM22 owners. Owners patch up to latest version. We all know it. I know it, you know it, they know it.

Why should I buy this one? I think I have spent all I am going to spend on this series.

its limited what they can do, they cant build a brand new game every year from scratch, you get that next year.

Why release it as a patch when they sells millions without? would be a terrible idea for them to do.

Ultimately it may be just a few updated and small changes but how many hours coding debugging and updating? each hour has a cost... plus buying information from clubs and other type of data and inserting them in the game cost as well... everything cost money.

but you want it for free even if is only 10 devs or 5 devs for 1 year fixing stuff is still a lot of hours to be billed (and is probably much more as they add stuff and plan for future changes and so on)

i wonder why people want everything always for free.

For me, the updated player ratings are enough to buy the game, since I spend around 2000 hours on it every year, but if you're more of a casual who doesn't really care about being up to date on everything, then yeah, there aren't many reasons to buy the new game.

I'm sick of these entitled paupers who whine and moan every time this game comes out, OK, sure, it's basically an exact copy of the previous game with a database update and a patch, but do you have any idea how much it costs to churn out packets of code for download?

You see that's where these idiots fall silent, because they know the answer, OK, sure, it actually costs fractions of a penny to make a digital copy of an already existing piece of software, but that's irrelevant because they also have to make a pdf manual that needs to be effectively available for every single person on the planet to access should the want to, do you know how much that costs? OK, sure, once the manual is finished it's actually free to make the pdf available, but that's not the point.

this is how ignorant people joke... is honestly not very funny (at all), I would suggest you get a real job start earning money (maybe as developer or coder) so maybe your jokes will get better and 50euro a year for 1000h of entertainment won't be a big deal

I think in Usa we pay cable 30/40$ a month and it entertains perhaps 10-15h at best.
If on the other hand you plan to play only 10-15 hours i would suggest you get cable tv.

but its not basically an exact copy though, the same parroted comments keep getting posted lol.

Theres new features, revamped set pieces, more improvements to the engine, new staff roles, new player roles, new J LEAGUE added in, ability to bring your old saves over into this one so u can continue your long term saves etc

Ohh and the one thing that people always like to gloss over every time, license fees. They have to pay for these, if they dont and add it random names for everything instead, you would all be complaning about not having the license and the developer still cant please you lol.

No they don't, and that's the problem. They have a 1 year window to get the database updated, then they choose to bundle it with a patch and then palm that off as a new game.

The correct way of doing this would be to release the database update as a DLC every year, and then release an actual New game every few years, a brand new game with new features and upgrades and improvements that set it completely apart from the previous title.

But they choose the lazy greedy money grubbing path.
