Feature request: Be able to fully customize your own stadium and facilities in the game

This and being able to 'own' clubs have been requests for as long I can remember in my 10+ years of playing FM.

i've been playing since Champ Manager Italia on my Amiga 500. in those early days of football games, the conversation between my friends and i was about building the best group of players. years later it was about doing a better tactical job than whatever manager was considered inept. The conversation now everywhere seems to have shifted again and is more focused on the owners themselves. Perhaps the calls for an owner based Career mode is now a reasonable request.

Nope. Sorry not for me. The game is Football MANAGER. It isn't part of a managers job to build stadiums and facilities, but down to the owners. Personally not something I'd want to see in the game. Its been done before in FIFA Manager and We Are Football.

you're right, it isn't the managers job... but it IS the owners. And, yes it has been done before, but it's never been done well.

But that's missing my point entirely. in the last 30 years the way we fans view football is different. no longer is football talked about in terms of the collection of players (as was the case in the late 80-90's), we don't even talk about the managers tactics anymore because managers are now a disposable element in the larger picture.


Just about every conversation with fans of other clubs defaults to a discussion about how they know better and could do a better job than their owners. Thinking you can be a better owner is the new thinking you could be a better manager.
