If you keep wrecking and crashing...
Guess what, you're going 300km/h, with 40 other cars doing the same behind, in front and to the side of you. Do you think they can react if you brake at the wrong moment or don't turn correctly?! You watch a race on TV and you think this is easy, they just go in a circle for 3hrs. Well, guess what, this game shows you just how difficult it is to maintain position. Every NASCAR game ever made will give you this problem because that's how physics work. A car 10cm behind you can't just stop suddenly because you missed when to turn or to maintain your speed. The best you can do is to play with all the driving assists to full or forget about NASCAR racing and play games with fewer cars or no cars (Rally, TrackMania) or less momentum and more controll (F-1, Dirt, NFS).

Also, try playing Daytona or Talladega as those are the easiest tracks that don't require braking for corners.

Or, to add another point of view: play bristol, and learn how to drive in a pack

seriously, I wish it would be possible to add VODs to the comments here, because I lost the trust in 99% of them.

I got the game today for 5 bucks. it's my first NASCAR game since '99, so.. the moment was perfect to get a new chapter. I was skeptical first, due to this forum posts, but for real.. guys.. what are you doing? I got what I expected at first, and am pretty happy and satisfied with the game.

my first 7 laps were a pain, and a rain of yellow flags, but then I finished in the 20's without any accidents or obscure AI crashes.

I bumbed several times into other cars, at the start like an idiot, all crashes were my fault. but when you learn how far you can go, it's pretty easy to master. If you don't use the other cars as bumpers, they're pretty solid drivers. If I didn't hit them with an incredible force on their weak spots, they always tried hard to keep the car on the line, and even if the pack got chaotic sometimes, I couldn't notice any major difficulties with AI.

If you read this forums, it sounds like the game would be completely broken, but that's wrong, and I don't believe it deserves such a heavy negative feedback.

Just keep in mind, the tracks are simple, the key challenge of every NASCAR game are the opponents, which are IMO pretty solid. if this game would be like every f1 game, where you can brake late and cut into every corner because the AI will always open the door for you, then it would be pretty boring.

If you want to win, you have to adapt to the situation around you, like in real life.

83 hours are enough for you? Because I think creepingcold is right.

Or the game itself is broken. Unless I'm just imagining not being able to play my copy. :p

I have 247 hours in this game, I'm a Grandfather, I was racing stock cars before most here were even born, so I guess your right, people like me, that can't drive, should stop spewing the facts.
