why is this game is labled as racist?

im hyped for the new shadow warrior so i keep watching gameplay videos but in most of the videos the game journalists keep bringing up how racist the orginal game is, and i just don't see it, they act like the game is just walking down a corrior door shooting demons while wo wang says '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me love optimum' or something equaly as offensive when really this game is duke nukem with homages to anime and asian cinema instead of hollywood movies. sorry if i sound like im whining it's jsut that i don't like how these guys talk about one of the best 90s shooters like it was just some bargin bin trash made for racist bigots.

That's the only reasoning I see in it. Literally every single review I see of it has someone saying "oh thank god they took out the horrendous racism and sexism". I don't understand how they could over exaggerate this, so I'm assuming they only say it to make themselves look good, probably for channel views. Just as you said, it's a parody of bad martial arts movies with a crazy exaggerated asian accent, which a lot of those films had.

If Shadow Warrior is racist, then so is Duke Nukem towards Americans.

I don't see how shooting samurai mutants is racist or all because they have some naked girls in the game, but whatever, who cares? In all seriousness, I think people are starting to blow racism out of proportion. Discriminating and insulting someone over their race is racist. A light hearted parody like this is not. The protagonist might be a parodied asian guy, but he's a parodied asian guy who single handedly kicks the butts of an army of monsters. That's not offensive. That's awesome.

It's a plague that spreads throughout most first world countries. They've gotten fat, comfy, and uneducated. Especially here in America where feelings come before rights. This is the effect of two things: The internet and life without serious conflict. But that's a whole different ballpark I don't care to get into on this thread.

Is it racist to mix French stuff and English stuff? The only racism in mixing the two is in the Japanese or Chinese who are offended to be lumped with the other. Their racism against each other is the only "racism" in that. Not to mention it was a mixture on purpose because it was aimed at the overarching Asian stereotypes in Kung Fu movies and Anime.

It isnt racist. It's just very stereotypical.

Stereotypes are based on the truth, and unfortunately in todays day and age, as soon as somebody states the truth, they are automatically labelled racist, because people have lost their sense of humour.

I have not a single idea why anybody would call his game racist. I mean, the guy is killing an entire army of bloodthirsty demons and the head of a tyrannical company, I have no idea how that can in any way be seen as racist.

And it is also not sexist at all. Sure, most of the anime girls are there just so that Lo Wang can make some lines, but they also shoot him for such behavior. Not only that, but one of the anime girls even calls him a "pathetic excuse for a man", which was a bit harsh.

And I know this thread was revived for....some....reason, but I just wanted to give my opinion here.
