In this case, the first episode ends after the 4th level and you need to select the second episode from the main menu to continue the game :)
hell man, i'm surprised they didn't make this game as long as "Duke Nukem 3D", since it has 4 episodes, while "Shadow Warrior" only had 2 (prior to the Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon expansions)
If I am correct they were almost as long. When duke launched it had 3 not 4 episodes. It had around 30 levels with around 6 secret levels. Some duke levels are also rather short. Shadow Warrior launched with 22 levels (not many secret levels) and most of them are larger then duke's. Add in the expansions for both games and I think Shadow warrior is a lot bigger then Duke. I never really compared my playtime for one playthrough so I can't be sure though...
The original Blood had 34 levels + Plasma Pak (9) + Crytic Passage (10) = 53 great levels.
The original Shadow Warrior gives you 22 levels. Twin Dragon gives you another 13 and Wanton Destruction: 12. Total = 47 levels.
probably the main reason why "Shadow Warrior" felt longer, at least for first-time players, is not only looking for secrets, but also backtracking throughout a level to pick up needed supplies before proceeding to the next.
You are right: I somehow didn't count duke dc or caribbean... Still the levels in shadow warrior are bigger ;)
