Anyone still get scared?
I remember playing this game as a kid and getting scared playing it. Especially the under water areas cause you would be swimming and turn around and some octabrain was taking up the whole screen. Sometimes this game does make me still jump like that when you turn around and some enemy is right in your face. Just brings back memories. The octabrain is easily the scariest enemy though. The noises they make and the look of them.

I wouldn't say scared, but screaming around a corner only to bump into the shins of a mini battle lord, does have the tendancy to make one clench :P

Yeah not really scared, but a clinch type thing. WHen I was kid I would get scared though, now its just a jump.

The memories in this game though..... I love it. I never played the expansions as a kid, but I know the main game like the back of my hand. So much fun.

I know this game inside and out (almost) and it never really scared me. Scariest thing to me is running out of health or ammo. But it's still a great game even if it has no scare factor for me :P

i remember when i was a kid playing this game, i ♥♥♥♥ my pants cuz i didn't like violent games besides mortal kombat. Later i wasn't scare anymore so i tried the game and...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...I had so much fun playing it that i couldn't stop.
I always found the sprites to be somewhat scary when combined with the sounds. It's like all 90's PC shooters had monsters making up their roster of enemies.

I didn't think so but there was a level in 'Lifes a Beach' where there is a mirror in a corner impossible to see/tell its a mirror and every damn time i ran past it i sh*t myself thinking it was something coming for me.

I just started playing that expansion for the first time last night and got to that mirror. Damn thing scared me more than anything in the game! I shot at it every time I passed it hahha

I got scared by playing Blake Stone (a game just like Wolf3d, but with Aliens). Never found duke3d to be "scary". I remember playing Duke3d and Rise of the Triad alot when i was very young, but dear god, i couldnt play Blake Stone without my father/mom with me.

Octabrains!
yeah man they scare the hell out of me sometimes. You dive in the water and think you are in the clear, but turn around and one is right in your face.

I know your feel dude, its the same thing for me, they freak the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. I love this game, but i can't play most of the levels because of them. How weird... And the noises... Shhhhi.

When i was a kid, protozoids slimers scared me, octabrains, besides, looked kinds sweet for me.
not really scary, but i'll admit i've jumped a few times whenever Sentry Drones would appear out of nowhere

This game is my childhood, yet I didn't feel scared playing it back then. Playing it again now terrified me the first couple revisits. Now I'm not scared anymore.
