Edit:
In stdout.txt there's CONTROL_Startup: Mouse Present, strange
Intel Core i3-4130
NVidia GeForce GT 640
And a basic Microsoft mouse, labeled as HID Mouse in the Device Manager.
May I try on my 7? I have as well a Microsoft mouse on it
Windows 7 x64
Intel i3-2310M @ 2.10 GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7610M
Microsoft USB Basic Optical Mouse (Mouse and Keyboard Center)
Will try to see if that Mouse and Keyboard Center is installed on my 8.1, perhaps that will help.
I also noticed I don't have the mouse cursor on the screen on the 8.1
But I too am having trouble with the mouse all of a sudden...will play around a bit.

Renamed the old cfg files, still the same. Running this on Linux Mint 17, with the 331.38 nvidia drivers on a GTX 660
