Absolutely nothing wrong with it since a statement like that is so incredibly subjective.
Or just plug a gamepad into your computer. I really wouldn't call it a lazy port, the fundamental mechanics were built around two sticks which unfortunately does leave something to be desired if playing on a keyboard. That said, there isn't really any way around the issue that ive seen proposed that wouldn't require rebuilding the game.
If you think this is a "bad" port, you know nothing tonkinese snow.
Bugs like the ones you're describing are pretty much never the result of a bad port. Those are issues that are fundamental to the game and will occur on any platform. Porting issues usually result in things like crashes and graphical errors. The fact is, a console is pretty much a low end incredibly limited PC with child locks. Nothing more.
Unless the port is somehow horrible (which is very rare these days), almost all games will play better on a real PC than they will on a console. It's not the 90's or early 2000's anymore where many ports were truly broken on the PC. These days, it's extremely rare that a console port is actually better on a console. Even lazy last minute ports like Dark Souls 1 are still a lot better on the PC (even if they aren't as good as they should be) and now that the Xbone/PS4 have architecture that is almost identical to PC's, this trend will only continue - if not improve even more.
If he had said it's a phenomenal game I would have agreed with him.
If he had said it was his 2013 GOTY I would have understood completely.
But saying it's "The best game I have ever played in 25 years"? Nonsense.
He admits that it was a decision based on emotion. He states in no uncertain terms that the thing that elevated Brothers for him was that "No other game had made me feel this way". The game yanked at his heart strings and he swallowed it hook, line and sinker and started singing its praises from the rooftops. Furthermore, I'm shocked (and a bit sorry for the guy) that in 25 years of gaming he has never played a game with a strong emotional gut punch. I certainly can't see that being due to lack of games with emotional stories.
I fully extend his recommendation to play Brothers, but it's not the end all-be all game.
