How long did it (really) take you to beat this game?
According to http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=12660 the Median completion time for the main story is 3 hours. The game wasn't very difficult for me and I didn't spend a lot of time just wondering around, but I'm certain it wasn't *that* short. Steam shows "18.9 hrs on record" which seems exaggerated to the other extreme (it felt like 5 or 6 hours). What am I missing here? Do most people really finish this game in 3 hours in their first run? Is there any chance it actually took me 19 hours and I somehow lost a day of my life?

To me it takes average 3,5h to complete game with achievements and interacting with npcs. I have no idea how it could take more than 5h to complete the game, i can't imagine what i could do for so long time xD
Maybe you are playing on laptop with intel 915 express graphics with 5fps :D And this is the reason? :D

When you say "takes" (as opposed to "took") I assume you're not referring to your first run? I'm pretty sure it would take me far less time to complete the game if I just reply it now, but when I'm playing a game for the first time I tend to explore things more leisurely. I didn't really keep track of time, but for sure it was a few hours and not what Steam is saying. I still wonder how they calculate this number. Could it be that if I left the game minimized Steam times things as if I'm actively playing it?

My PC is built around an i7-4770K and an AMD HD7850.

.exe runs - time is counted as gameplay time no matter if you play it or not.

So I need to exit the game if I want accurate timing? This isn't always possible without losing progress, especially in games that are console ports and don't support proper saving...

Yes, that's exactly the thing. As long as .exe is running as long steam is counting it as playtime. If you would put just launcher of game and not entering the main game time will be counted :D So if you want to artificially pump up your time spent in game launch just launcher xD
Steam says 2hrs total and i already finished it...so I guess howlongtobeat.com is right

About five hours! Really enjoyed all the different landscapes!

It usually takes me quite a bit longer than is shown on the how long to beat website. I think people who post there must be full time gamers who race through games. I play in a relaxed way and look around (it is a beautiful game), and I know I spent considerably longer than 3 hours. It wouldn't surprise me if I spent at least twice that amount of time.

EDIT: Ah - I see I played for 7 hours. I didn't realize I had this game here on Steam. I thought I got it on GOG.

I'm about to get my final achievemt (missed the one in the prologue) and have acording to Steam a 3h total. Played the game for the first time, didn't hurry or anything, I sometimes just sat on benches and chilled for a while. But I got every "puzzle" almost immediately and didn't have much troubles with the controls, so I'd say 3h is the minimum.

Edit: 3,3 hrs, to be exact.

Exploring everything and collecting all the achievements can take 4 hours. I didn't rush, i was slow and enjoyed the game. After i beat it i collected the achievements. It took me 4 hours.
