Absolutely No Sound

I saw this mentioned a few times, but there was never any response, so I am trying agian.

I played the game a few weeks back and it worked all properly. Now after reinstalling it though there is absolutely no sound, no music, no dialogue, no nothing.

The game is not muted by Windows and all other programs work, no exception.
The only modification to my hardware as opposed to last time is the graphics card.
Drivers for everything are up to date.

Does anyone have any idea about this?

After I removed the cable to the second screen, the sound worked.

Download the dill file from the following location and put in your Windows/System32 and Windows/SysWOW64 Folder. Remember to take the backup of current dll.

I have the same silly problem. No sound at all. I tried copying that dll but that did not work either.

I guess, the problem has something to do with the transmission of the audio-signal to another device via HDMI-Cable. That`s the reason, why the most complaining players are players, who play the game on a second screen.
There is a simple solution to this problem: Right-click on your speaker-icon, go to "sounds", deactvate the second screen in the playback-tab. Now the sound will come from your PC or your Laptop. If you have some USB-Speakers left from the early years, plugin and enjoy!
