BTW, the characters don't use a real language, so it's quite reasonable that you don't understand what they say.
lol i noticed this right after the my post >.< , english isnt my first language so sometimes without subtitles and with a low audio quality it might sound to me exactly like those two kids language :D . thank you :)
processor : intel pentium dual cpu t2390 1.86 Gh -1.9 GH
operative system : vista home premium 6.0
graphic card : mobile intel 965 chipset family
memory : 358 MB
despite this i was able to play the witcher two quite fine on low graphics , well except for the cinematics (they were low and the audio sucked) and for the kraken fight part where i had to ask a friend to finish it for me on his computer.
for now the only game i am sure i cant play is rome II
what is weird is that when i restored the previous higher graphic setting on the game brothers it started to work slightly better.
i can play it , and if there is no solution for the audio i will just accept it and enjoy the game just like i did with the witcher 2 , but i am stuck at the rope in the first chapter , i will ask on another post if this is a common bug or this is caused by my low quality graphic card
While this game doesn't have any way of customizing the graphics from the launcher or the ingame menu, you can try several things:
1) Enable the FPS counter in Steam settings to check your current framerate ingame.
2) Lower your resolution to 640x480 by changing ResX to 640 and ResY to 480 under [SystemSettings] in P13Engine.ini
3) Disable the following options under [SystemSettings] in P13Engine.ini:
- DynamicLights (will completely disable lighting so the game will become much darker)
- DynamicShadows (player and NPC shadows)
- LightEnvironmentShadows
- CompositeDynamicLights
- SHSecondaryLighting
- DirectionalLightmaps (do NOT disable this)
- MotionBlur
- DepthOfField
- AmbientOcclusion
- Bloom
- bAllowLightShafts
- Distortion (distorts objects under water)
- FilteredDistortion
- LensFlares
- FogVolumes
- FloatingPointRenderTargets
- AllowRadialBlur
- AllowSubsurfaceScattering
- AllowImageReflections
- AllowImageReflectionShadowing
- bEnableForegroundShadowsOnWorld
- bAllowWholeSceneDominantShadows
- MaxDrawDistanceScale=0.500000 (will lower draw distance without noticeable impact)
4) Lower your field of view thanks to the key bindings mentioned at the beginning of this post (I do not recommend a FOV lower than 70 as your characters will be able to go past the camera bounds): http://www.deadendthrills.com/forum/discussion/80/guide-brothers-a-tale-of-two-sons
5) Now check the FPS counter again to know if it increased performance.
Please do no ask for my help if there is any graphical issue caused by doing this, I've just spent 1h fiddling with the INI settings out of curiousity and this is the best I could come up with without making the game look ugly.
Also, I don't wanna seem condescending but your computer specs are way below any game released after 2004, but I guess you've been told that already.
yeah my computer is ridicolously old , anyway i appreciate your help .. a lot :)

This game runs FANTASTIC on very, very low end MODERN computers. I've run it perfectly at gorgeous settings on ten year old computers.
it isnt so old. it's vista 32 bit
I think the bottleneck is the (non)video card and the RAM, which is insanely small.
my RAM is 3062 and i have direct x 11
i think it would look good with lower settings as well . especially if the resolution is 800x600
it looked decent with extremely low settings in the witcher 2 , i doubt this game needs settings as low as the ones i have used on witcher2 . the beautiful colors of the environment would still be there.
