Can't get little brother to ''roll'' the bridge up ?

I play this game with my keyboard, moving the little borther and big brother works fine. I canactivate them both, no problem. In the beginning of the game you walk a sick man to a bridge, right? Well, right after I help the little brother onto the ledge where the ladder is, I can hold the right CTRL key for as long as I want - combined with movement keys - but he simply won't budge... Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

I figured as much but, I can't get the big brother to get up there? He only puts his hands together for his little brother. I bet there is an easy explanation but I just am not seeing it..

There should be a rope on top of the small ridge. With the help of the big brother get the little brother up (like you did already) and walk a little further to the right. As soon as you're close the the rope just hold the action key to drop it down so the big brother can climb up. In order to get the man up the elevator you'll need both brothers to operate these winds (or however it's called in english), it might seem like nothing's happening but it's just really slow, it'll take around a minute or two until you hear a clicking sound.
