It has a very different tone and there's no gameplay, but it is one of the strongest narrative games i know. It's also really short. But there's so much message in it. I loved every second of it!

Likeable characters, great art style and simply among the few games that really moved me.
If you're into murder mysteries and some darker themes I also suggest the Cube Escape / Rusty Lake series. So far the developers have made 2 full-length games that are on Steam. The others you can find free on the Internet. The games are made in Flash which is a bit old-fashioned but the continuous story is very interesting. You don't necessarily have to know the Cube Escape / Rusty Lake lore to play any of the games but starting from the free games would be adviced and maybe check the wiki if you want to know in which order to play the games in. I personally don't really know the order of the games but they're still fun.
Then there's The Dream Machine series which goes from dark/horror to sci-fi to drama to absurb... Very interesting as well and once again the graphics, which were made from clay, are amazing. It's a pretty long series and the DLC chapters might cost quite a bit when put together but it's a great one with tricky puzzles at times and lots of character dialogue. It just gets a bit on the, well, dreamy side at times so be aware of that.
These are all point'n'clickers but definetly not bad ones! Highly suggest them :)
This game reminds me of Journey in a way and I think you can get it from Steam now too? It's a beautiful PS3 title and you can play it with other people (one, to be exact, someone who joins you at random). It's a no-dialogue, sceneric exploring action game where what you see is basically the story (the walls, some cutscenes). Quite fun and you get to be in control of the camera in that one as well. And hey, more buttons to press than in this one!
TL;DR: Samorost 3, Rusty Lake aka Cube Escape series, The Dream Machine (all point'n'clickers) and Journey (PS3-to-Steam title).
