I saw this coming from a mile away when they announced there would be a "leaderboard"... I've even warned some indie devs that this would happen when they wanted to introduce ladders. And guess what... 10/10 times it resulted in rampant cheating when introduced without "moderation"
People REALLY don't care about the hows and why's.... as long as they can be #1
EDIT: and for the record... there was a player in the ranking with maxed out stats (all of them) on the MP on release day so NISA/NIS knows; they just don't give a F
"well duh; it's an online ranking and this game has no anticheat..."
(So how come NIS didn't consider this)
"I saw this coming from a mile away when they announced there would be a "leaderboard"...
( So how come NIS didn't see this coming from a mile away?)
"People REALLY don't care about the hows and why's.... as long as they can be #1"
(If you and I know this, how does NIS not?)
Truth is NIS knows all these things, they are simply too lazy to implement anything that would change it. But should we be surprised? I mean they have been using the same character models, same Weapon Models/Names and the same PS2 graphics for the last 20+ years on their flagship title, if that tells you anything.
Each release, the cost for the consumer goes up, but the effort from the Dev Team goes down. Anyone care to explain that?
So I have decided that if I see a cheater in any rank above me, they simply do not count. So if I place 3rd, in my mind I actually placed 1st, since I didn't cheat to get there.
Your name says everything I need to know about you, to determine that any interaction with you will result in an extensive waste of my time. Good Luck.
As an FYI, there is an exploit to get above "normal" HP/SP in the game for characters. It involves doing subclasses last on a character (so if you max subclasses first, you can't do the exploit). I haven't personally used it myself b/c I just don't need to. But yeah, this might be the reason you're seeing such high points for HP/SP (tho 99,999,999,999 HP/SP is not possible and is only achievable through cheating), but folks with like 3-5 billion HP may have gotten it legit using the exploit which in turn is adding fat to their points.
And of course I am talking about the ones with 99,999,999,999 HP/SP as the cheaters. 2-4 Billion HP is totally normal, not 99 Billion. As I mentioned. I saw 45 unique Evilities just 4 Ranked Seasons ago at least, (like within the last 4-5) weeks, so not sure if that's been patched out. Also 99% resistance to all Weapons and Elements I have seen recently too.
Nice to see another Ranked Battles Regular on the forums. I (weekly) place in the top 3, and hold #1 spot for sometimes days, but then the Asian Timezone players come in while I am sleeping or working and bump me to #2 or #3 by getting their ratings higher at the last second. I finally gave up trying to get #1, because it just isn't feasible with cheating and timezone constraints/work requirements. I battle only at night typically after work, and usually just play till they start handing me server disconnects, because I win 10+ times in a row, and then suddenly I loose connection for like 30 minutes to an hour, and then I can reconnect and try again. Any ways good luck with your Fuji see you on the battlefield. If you want to discuss strats/builds send me a message.
It's possible they used an older version of the game that's available that somehow bypasses the patch that was put in to fix that from happening. Either way, they're done doing updates till the Complete version comes out, sadly. I too lose out to the Asian timezone players, which is frustrating. Thankfully I have won one or two times, but you can just get the Gold Trophy from IG2 of Silver Trophy if that's the issue. I also typically keep my battling to Sunday and Monday evenings.
As an FYI, do 9 matches, then idle the game back in the base for 5-7 mins. Rinse and repeat :) I have found it takes longer for the cooldown than manually waiting for it to work.
Also, see the player with 3000 points this week? That bug was also supposed to be patched also but somehow it is randomly happening that they are getting rollover from previous weeks. It's annoying b/c battling #1 spot is also seemingly bugged in that their battle rating will always match yours. Ah well, hopefully Complete fixes that also :)
I'm not well versed in using Steam so feel free to message me first and hopefully I get a notification and can find it from there, haha!
