item reincarnation confusion (solved)
[edit]
Wow I can't believe I was being this dumb, I was misreading the option I was picking. I WAS JUST CONFUSING MYSELF! Sorry for all of this, thank you to those who had responded and were trying to help!

[original]
Okay, so I was messing around with this after I accumulated a lot of points. I tried to reincarnate an item I went through all the floors with and... it does nothing but waste my points?
I see online there is suppose to be a menu that comes up and options? But all that happens for me is the item just loses the "reincarnate" option and I lose the points I spent on it.

Am I missing something?

From what I learn messing around item reincarnation stuff.... You gotta max out item enhancement on static before reincarnation. You going find your self having to kill every things for clear bonus level and even mystery rooms will give you level bonus for doing so by being annoying to NPC by talking to them a lot. Not all of them are battle able. Only the one have differences quote talk every time you talk to them. Make sure you fill up all the squad that are relate to item world stuff. It will make your item have better static. Make sure you set your item path to item enhancement route to have better chance of find level sphere.

If find that getting all stage bonus is kind a unnecessary. Some of them are unreasonable. I just ignored it. It is easier to max level in legendary and epic with out using enhancement to level it up. Usually I like to kill all of them in 1 turn.

It is harder to max level in rare item to level 500(other wise you will find your self using enhancement to max out level on rare item that you miss a few level or more).

So you are saying that the requirement is lvl500 on the item itself? But they still let you use the points if the item doesn't meet that requirement?

If you are under level 500 that is after clearing all the floor. Then use the point to level up. IF you are max at level 500. Then you don't have to do it.

You don't have to be level 500 to reincarnate it just gives you more points to carry over stats. Those carry over stats boost the item's base stats which means leveling it in the item world gives it better growth. Same as reincarnating a character to give them higher base stats. You aren't wasting any points under level 500, nor are you wasting points by reincarnating the item. It takes a long time to see big returns on weaker items, but stronger ones will grow pretty fast.

The problem is item reincarnation can run into dead ends and ruin your item unless it was high rank to begin with so you can reset back to base. 500 points gives you item god 2 which will carry the next rank of whatever item you have. You are unlikely to hit 500 points unless its an item with 30 floors. Higher level you hit the more carry over points you get.

If you are talking about a menu with options do you have reincarnation for items unlocked? It doesn't unlock to partway through the story. You SHOULD get a choice of three options to reincarnate into, and a screen where you can allocate carry over stats into the bast stats of the new item along with possibly learning new traits, and passing along old traits.

I dunno, cause I tried to do it on something I only got around lvl200 and nothing happened. The level didn't reset to zero, no stat changes... I just lost the points and the option to reincarnate goes away.

This has been the big actual issue. The only answer I ever see is people saying "max it out first".

Yes I meant the actual act of reincarnating in the menus. I have the option and can spend the points on it, then... nothing happens.

Hmm reincarnate go away.... It mean that your item may turn into higher rarity and you need to go back into your item to clear 10 more floor. Just to reincarnate.
