I don't understand why. I loved 3. The opening song was so awesome.
D3 may happen eventually, they aren't exactly doing them in order. PC release order so far has been: 1, 2, 5, 4, 6, 7
There's no reason to watch a playthrough of 3 before playing 4, the stories are completely unrelated. It's not like D2 where you had Etna on the main cast to loosely tie the games together, D3 is entirely it's own thing.
D3 was one of the weakest games in the series, and doesn't have a Switch version to easily port. I don't think the Vita is that much harder to port from but so far they've mostly been dealing with Switch ports, so D3 is likely going to need the D1/D2 treatment which takes more time/effort. Or they are planning a Switch release of D3 and waiting for that.
D4: I really liked all the characters. Mostly and main ones at least. Perhaps the best story and characters. I still got my physical copy.
D5: I disliked majority. Sera, Mag, Usalia were great and so was that necro girl. PPL were hating on Sera, but her personality was suppose to be basically annoying down to her little laugh.
D6: Still have not played. Waiting for a larger sale. I got games like Cyberpunk. So the asking price with review scores isn't appealing enough.
I wish we got a Disgaea game that actually let us play the evil side and even fight angels. Decades of games where we play the freaking holy saint good guy with a paid out linear path story and we all our Holy choices just workout always. Demon is always main character (mostly) and we're always the good guys??, why not an angel at this rate.
I understand the majority needs their hands held and morality never tested, but come on: Tis why movies like Starwars that they make the empire utterly evil like they were only hiring jerks and kicked everyone else off the payroll. "Don't think, just watch the pretty lights and sounds".
That is the reason
i'd like for them to release DD2 on steam tho... never had the chance to play this episode :/
The games aren't really linked together, even when they feature returning characters in their main story. On top of that D3 characters are pretty much existing in their own vacuum, you won't see them again beside in bonus DLC.
As for why... well, they could've ported the Vita version by now, as we all know porting PS3 games is a gamble at best - and NIS aren't exactly the best at doing that in the first place.
I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the source code or something dumb like that.
But it could also be because it was the least popular entry in the series before D6 happened.
If you really want to play it, you'll have to do so via emulation.
DD2 works pretty well, so I guess D3 should work too.
I dunno why people keep saying this. 4 was also on PS3. On top of which, both 3 and 4 got Vita ports, and there's no way 3 wouldn't be ported with the extra content from that version.
So that's 100% not an issue, at all.
It COULD be for DD2, however.
The far more likely reason is that it is something to do with the licensing for Disgaea 3. It can be something as stupid as the contract agreement with a single voice actor, or a song in the soundtrack, that prevents it from being ported.
