That said, I do think D7 went back to it's roots with the stories in between episodes. Silly and yet referential to other works if you know them.
On a whole I personally enjoyed the story and I don't think it's any worse than say D5 or 6.
Robot kid was wrong all the time and annoying but the prototype had a reason to be there in the story. Robot kid was no Thursday; even had different mechanics(made him worse).
Higan, ya...
Loved D1, but will never play again, too backward now, and with the enhancements of 5 and 7 not present. a major slog. But D1 did have a great story. 4 was ok as well. but in general, I still say 5 is better then 7, mechanics wise. Apart from the pirates. I had great fun playing 5.
When compare to Disgaea 6. Their story is way to simple. Most of the time you be dealing with God Of Destruction any way. Also the person user trying to save also turn into a God Of Destruction. Later you find out that main character is a reincarnation of God Of Destruction.
If anything, Pirilika is the main character and Fuji is just the token annoying character of the game, most of series has at least one.
