Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless

Is a Succubus' normal attack based on her ATK?
Unless I'm misremembering, a monster's normal attack is based on the monster weapon right? If so, how did this happen?

Steams says it can't find the images?

Without being able to see those images; keep in mind that evilities can change the key attributes of attacks and so can the presence of other units as well as being in certain squads

if i aint wrong, wings are based on INT and the skull things are based on ATK

i may be wrong, but if i am, i have mistaked for many years, not that it matters too much anyways, the stats max out sooner or latter .

I changed the link so hopefully the pics can be seen, but my succubus is lvl 2, just her default evility, attacking a lvl 3 prinny and she can't kill it, she has the proper weapon on her and everything

succubus normal attack scale off ATK, you gave her an INT MW that's why she did pitiful dmg, use special and magic for better dmg

But in the older games it used to be the damage type would be dependent on the weapon type, right? Or was that changed recently (by recently I mean a change brought over from 6 or new to this one)?
i haven't played disgaea games for a long time so idk what has changed but this is the case of 7, when using special skills you can see what stats the skill scale off like HIT / RES or SPD etc. normal attack scale off ATK for most of the time unless you have specific setup that changes the scale.

eg: someone in the game has an evility that change fist dmg scale from ATK to RES etc.

You're right, but in 6 or 7 they changed her normal attack to now go off her ATK, no matter which one she has equipped
I just tested it in 5 where I made a new lvl 1 succubus, made her good-for-nothing and dumped her ATK stat, gave her a carnage INT monster weapon, and had her attack a lvl 4000+ non-carnage enemy from the back, and she killed it. I don't know how many other monsters this effects, but this is a completely stupid change

Check out the second pic in the original post, I only can do her magic attack 2 more times before running out of SP. The normal attack should at least be some sort of backup option in this sort of scenario, but I can't even deal any damage to a prinny I'm striking in the back (seen in the first pic). Or what if I'm against an enemy that resists wind (keep in mind she's only lvl 2)? Am I to just burn through SP?

As for witches, they have a skill to regain SP and their innate evility lets them uses magic at half the cost, so they shouldn't really be anywhere near the point where they're out of SP, Succubus has neither of these.
tbh SP isn't really a problem, just give her an common orb for SP boost or decrease skill power, if you upgrade your skill too much you won't have enough SP to use it at low LV, once you have decreased skill LV you can upgrade it back with 0 mana cost.

basic setup for caster is 1 INT MW + 2 glasses w 1 SP boost acc like orb etc. or you can go 3 glasses nuke, if you run out SP just use soda

if you want even more dmg, use witch instead, she has that insane +100% magic dmg buff

anyway i went and made a LV1 succubus with identical stats of yours, tested on 37 RES orc and i one shot him fro 169 dmg with F+ wind magic, idk how you couldn't kill that prinny.

also something worth mentioning, looks like you was in an item world ? sometimes you will encounter "special" enemies in item world that takes no dmg no matter what.

i have experienced that myself, an LV84 enemy takes no dmg from my LV 5000 party without geo effect or anything lol, idk what that is but if you did no dmg to that prinny i'm pretty sure you encountered one of those invincible enemies as i did.

It's not that I couldn't kill it necessarily, it's that I had to use SP when in the previous games a normal attack would've done the job (and I don't like the change). I already have a witch, but I like to have 1 of each class because it's just how I've always played the Disgaea games.

I really hope that's just a bug or something, especially considering that could potentially screw over the end of round bonuses without any sort of indication

probably a steam version bug since i have never seen anyone on PS talked about this, i had to move to the portal to proceed because i couldn't kill the enemy.

As a playstation user testing this out. Succubus's normal attack indeed based on atk static.

(I never really think about using Succubus class)

This basically same thing for Witch/Skull class treatment for using normal attack(them whacking enemy using their staff). I have feeling that they won't count this as a bug.
