Won't even open

I got this game during the sale because on PS2, the disk was old and banged up. Whenever I even press play, I get a window that will appear for not even a second and that's it, I miss this game and need help

Hello I think I found a solution to the problem let me know if this works for you it worked for me turn on your VMR9 in the game settings and the game should work then. It is working for me but having trouble with the controller settings.
