spoilt gamer here: i hate the controls
basically the title. this thing controls like a piece of crap. tried both controller and kb/mouse options and wasnt too fond of the movement. then again, from since it was made, the genre has had several leaps and bounds worth of progress since so it's natural that this experience was so jarring.

The PC version seems to force the tank controls on you, while in the PS2 version Lara moves to the direction you push the left stick (D-Pad still acting as tank control, if I remember correctly. Or maybe it was the camera.)

Can't say the PS2 controls are perfect, or even really all that good, but for me, the tank controls are the deal breaker for the PC port, especially since pressing diagonals in tank control mode makes Lara have a walking start.

I don't really think that saying that it was an earlier 3D game makes any diference, games like Sonic Adventure on the dreamcast had amazing control, same with Mario 64, It's just a sign of how unfinished this game really is.

Well, you can't really compare the more traditional 3D platformers, where the original Tomb Raider titles took inspiration from cinematic platformers where your movements were relatively realistic - i.e. no crazy mid-air control or instantly jumping in any direction on a whim.
this game sucks i really want a refund on the game. money well wasted

Whenever i play this now i usually use cheat engine to give it a bit of a speedup that way the controls seem a bit more responsive and less annoying
thars a good idea

Yeah, movement is horrible comparing to previous games.
I really don't know why did they destroy perfect movement controlls from previous parts...

Btw. music and graphics are really good and story seems to be good too (playing it currently).

Only time I had issues with the controls was when I played it on the PS2, those controls were just busted completely. I have no issues controlling Lara on the keyboard with the way I programed the commands to certain keys.
