new problem in Parisian Backstreets

Hi everyone! I am really hoping somebody can help me. I wanted to replay Angel of Darkness as it is my favourite TR game and all of a sudden... I CANNOT finish Parisian Backstreets (the first level) because upper-body strength upgrade (the first you get on the rooftop) doesn't work! Lara says: "My strenght is increasing" after I found and used crowbar, I see the lightning symbol but I still CANNOT make across the long roof to get to the next balcony (close to the end to the level). I've never had this problem before and played this game many times! Help anybody, please (?) What's going on? Did anybody encounter this problem? She should say :"I reckon I can make it across" and she doesn't and I cannot get across.

Are you 100% sure you stood all the way to the left, then jumped and immediately started shimmying to the left? If you really got the upgrade and you really stood as far left as you could and grabbed the ledge and immediately started going left and you still didn't make it, try to start a new game, maybe verify the files as well. I've never heard of this happening in that level.

And also, as far as I remember, Lara doesn't actually say "I reckon I can make it across" at that spot.

yeah, I'm sure I'm standing in the right position :( I love this game and I've played it many, many times so unfortunatelly I'm sure. Maybe the words are spoken in a different moment of the game but I'm not wrong about my problem,. I'm definitely not getting the upgrade :( I hear what you're saying, I've never heard about such a thing before either. That's the problem :(
