So with community "Fixes" is this game worth to play ?
Since I've heard that it's a bug ridden game.

Did those community fixes made the game playable ?

This game is worth to play in any case. Major bugs were fixed with the official patch (last is v52) so the only community fixes are minimal visual glitches and some visual improvements intended to be originally on the game, but not finally implemented due stability issues.

It was a disappointment at launch due all the content cutted off, but it's not that buggy. Actually later TRs have major bugs this one hasn't, so it's unfair to call it "a bug ridden game".

Those are the proper settings on Configuration Utility (from Launcher > Settings):

GENERAL TAB
  • Frame Rate Compensation: Disabled
  • Processor: All enabled
{GRAPHIC CARD} TAB (first one)
Enabled
Click on "PS 2.0"
  • Monitor Aspect: 1.33 (for 4:3 monitors) or 1.78 (for 16:9 or 16:10 monitors)
  • Monitor Size: 21
  • Screen Format: 32 bits X8R8G8B8
  • Screen Res: Select your resolution with 60fps
  • Multi Sampling: 8 Samples
  • Render Type: Shader Hardware
  • Options: All enabled (VMR9 is the most important)
  • Textures: Highest possible (if you have a middle graphic card or better)
  • Render Targets: All enabled (except nVidia Shadows, it breaks shadows actually)
{GRAPHIC CARD} TAB (others)
Disabled

MOUSE TAB
Disabled (there is a rare issue with mouse and cinematics)

KEYBOARD TAB
Enabled

{OTHER TABS} (each, if any)
Disabled

If the game runs too fast, use a fps limiter to cap the game to 60fps. If you have a nVidia card, you can use nVidia Inspector[www.guru3d.com]

Besides, I recommend to use this patched version of TRAOD_P4, community made (by sasho648), with a lot of fixes and some improvements: TRAOD_P4 v6.6.4[onedrive.live.com]
Extract TRAOD_P4.exe and replace (backup the original just in case) on bin folder.

This game is my favorite TR game. It's definitely worth playing, even if the bugs and controls may be off-putting.

The game's dreadful. But, I don't know why, but I keep forgiving it.
The controls will make you want to tear you eyeballs out.
But the music and story are top notch.
It feels like an RPG that was never finished. But, you'll wanna see it to the end.
Which is no bad thing.
