Are you using some patch or modded verison?
In any case, I suggest to dowload the fixed version of that level from here:
http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=7734592&postcount=274
Dowload the file and put it on:
\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider (VI) The Angel of Darkness\data\Maps\
Rename the old file as backup, just in case.
With the poor information you gave, I only can suggest you now to check file integrity:
- Go to Steam > Library
- Right click on Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness > Properties
- Local Files tab > Verify integrity of game files
If there is some broken or corrupted file it will be downloaded again.Build Sep 17 2003 15:53:15
The Following Error has occured
Generic Game Error
ASSERTION: 'SUCCEEDED(hr)' at C:\projects\tomb raider\Game\shell\system\PC\sys_d3d_vmr9.cpp(1569)
That is the whole message This is not a mod this is just the game I bought and downloaded from steam
1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired
game still does not work
To fix that error follow these steps:
- Start the Launcher > Settings
- Go to {YOUR GRAPHIC CARD} TAB, and enable VMR9 in Options.
- Apply, OK.
Now the game will start properly.Try again that movement in Strahov that was causing the crash before. Let me know if it works, if doesn't we will continue figuring out.
By the way, I paste here my recommended settings:
Glad to help!
Also, a weird thing with mouse and cinematics? Is that maybe why my cutscenes are skipping? I actually have to pause the game and watch the cutscenes on YouTube because they won't work or they'll skip after a couple of seconds.
Start the Launcher > Settings
- MOUSE TAB > Untick Enable. Apply, OK. Try any cutscene.
- GENERAL TAB > Disable Frame Rate Compensation if it is enabled, or enable it in fast mode if it is disabled. Apply, OK, try any cutscene.
In my experience, both Frame Rate Conensation and Mouse can cause the cutscenes to skip. Maybe this solves the crash on Strahov as well. If not, try what I said on post #1:I've seen some crashes with a particular sound effect, so if any of above has worked, try disabling completely Sound, just as a try.
But, I hope messing around with the mouse and turning framerate compensation on will work.
I had to download and install Configuration Utility, install it, and run it. There you just click Run game and everything works fine. Even Lara's movement is fixed!

After I set my configuration like the one you recommend the game stop crashing in the reporter murder cut scene, thank you!
