Tomb Raider (VI): The Angel of Darkness (2003)

Tomb Raider (VI): The Angel of Darkness (2003)

Tomb of Ancients - Lara keeps losing her grip
I could not for the life of me able to make her hold the ledge near the broken bridge where the gargoyles are. Jumping and grabbing was not the problem, she just immediately let go of the ledge when she successfully got a hold of the edge. This is the only thing that's keeping me from progressing. Any ideas?

Game version: build 52(the patched version) + TraodSCU

Thanks but I already know where to go. I don't wanna say it's a bug since this game is shrilled with bugs anyway. She was not able to hold the ledge, as in no 'grab' meter and she auto release the ledge when she grab it. If that makes sense.

It makes sense.
Anyway, I recommend to use this patched version of TRAOD_P4, community made, with a lot of fixes and some improvements: TRAOD_P4 v6.6.2[www.dropbox.com]
Extract TRAOD_P4.exe and replace (backup the original just in case) on bin folder.

It should work properly with SCU.

I'm really bad at explaining things so I made a video of it :P Sorry for the piss poor quality.
Also, no luck with the update you gave me.

It's a fanmade patch, so AFAIK there are no patchnotes. There is only the post of this user in a large thread in tombraiderforums. This was the first version with its features:
http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?p=6993845#post6993845
From there you can look for more updates and see the changes. For example the last one (6.6.4) include a fix for Steam overlay.

He also published a video on YT showing the features:

OK, now I remember. Thanks for the video.

Try to jump to the other side of the bridge, and then from there.

It happened the same to my wife but she managed to do it that way:

I didn't think that would work because she keeps hitting the railing when I jump. What I did was revert back to it's broken state where she can actually grab the ledge, save and continue on with the patched version.

Kinda wish someone could patch the auto release if she jumps too far to grab something. Or remake the entire game. I know FreakRaider is working on it and I'm really excited.

Lot of people started a remake, alone... but that never cames to an end unfortunately. It's too much for one person, and one person can't do everything (modelation, animation, programation, optimization), so don't have high hopes.

The only way is something like Dreamfall Chapters: some fans who wanted to continue "The Longest Journey" and "Dreamfall" serie, so they founded a studio to start the project and got money on Kickstarter.
Now the game is completed and it's pretty awesome actually.
It's the only way to do a fanmade TRAoD remake.

That's true. Been watching the classic Tomb Raider anniversary talks and playthroughs worked up my nostalgia. The kid in me is excited over fan remakes w.i.p but the adult me knows that it'll take forever to come out or...never :(

I'm still keeping my hopes up though.

Tomb Raider Anniversary was a stolen title. The original one was being developed by the original TR classic team: Core Design, but the new developers Crystal Dynamics managed to cancel that project at 80% completion because they wanted to do his own.
Totally unfair.

Crystal Dynamics' TR Anniversary makes me very sad.

Yea, saw the trailer. It felt like it was a like little gift from Core to the fans of the classics. Got to know the story behind it and it broke my heart. It's like their precious child got ripped out off of their hands and Core murdered in cold blood. Seriously, Core needs a hug. A big one at that.

I secretly want Core's remake of TRA to be released as a free download.

I totally agree with you, I feel the same way. The only thing we can do is to hug ourselves virtually :steamhappy:
