Why the 3rd-party DRM?

I was wondering why this is necessary, even more so after seeing someone posting here about reaching the activation limit and the developer answering this:

"Sure! You can request code renewal - just write a message to [e-mail] with your code(s) and you'll have the activation limit reset.

It's not a secret: when you try to use a code after it's limit is reached, you get an explicit message to contact [e-mail] for renewal."

So what's the point of this still existing if it can be bypassed? In my opinion it just scares potential customers (like me) that do not put up with draconian DRM.

The game was initially advertised without mentioning the DRM, either. Which is another way of saying the DRM limit is there to remind you to play a different card game.

I have seen messages from the developers in the comment section of the shop page, that DRM would be removed soon. That comments were from February 2021. It is June 2021, now.

I have seen this game on kongregate years ago, I think.
When will DRM be removed (or is it already)?

Won`t buy this game with activation limit, but definitely without.

Just saw the game is on sale until October 16th. If the DRM had been removed, me and a group of friends would have purchased it.
I'd would be nice to hear from the developers if there's any intention on removing it so people like me can just put a mark on their calendar or simply forget about the game.

I'd not say this is bypassing: if you'll request code renewal every day - it won't be renewed, so one can't activate 1000 game copies with a single key.
It's just an option for manual intervention intended to solve the issues in a reasonable manner.

I'm of the opinion that the person who owns it now doesn't have the ability to remove it. Otherwise why not make all the money from those of us waiting?

Would the developer mind to tell us when the DRM will be removed? And if it gets removed, will this work for the versions purchased directly from the developer, too?
