Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999)

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999)

Is this game really difficult?
Just finished 1,2 and 3 for the first time again since playing them in my childhood.

All i've heard is that this game takes it to a whole new level in difficulty, more so than 3 did (omg kill me pls)

so would it be worth me playing this one (blind i might add) or just watching some walkthroughs?

It's bigger than 3, but certainly not more difficult.
People just got scared by the sizes and that areas have hubs and interconnections.
Just play it blindy. If you get stuck check a walkthrough. I might help.

In my opinion, the game is slightly more difficult than Tomb Raider 3, and the most difficult game of the classics. This is especially true of the second half of the game, i.e. from level 21, City of the Dead, onwards. The first half is not really more difficult than Tomb Raider 3. I'd also recommend playing it blindly, but If you want a walkthrough for it, I'd recommend the Tomb Raider Stella website: http://tombraiders.net/stella/tomb4.html

I'm playing, I'm on guardian of sermekhet, and for me it's more difficult than 1,2,3 because it is not linear like others you finish that level and will not see him again, in 4, it goes through the same place each three times to collect different items, I liked him, always wanted to finish when had the PS1, but I could not do this hehe. Play blindly like the guys suggested above.

I don't think The Last Revelation is any more difficult than the other three as others have mentioned. But the secrets are waaaaay harder in this one, I'd never find them all without a guide, also doesn't help that it no longer tells you secret count on a level by level basis like in 1-3. :steamsalty:

You MUST play every TR classic. Of course it's worth it! Especially after the new titles came out. Of course they are 'appealing', but c'mon, nothing to do with the classics' atmosphere and depth. No drama needed. Great games, still scary (it's how I remember them, maybe that's the reason). I'm currently finishing TR3, since it is the one I never finished in my childhood :)

tomb raider 3 is tough? really? lol I think it's pretty simple. I ocasionally checked the walkthroughs to know which door I had to go to but nothing much. the only reason I can imagine tr3 being tough is on the ps1 because of the save limitation but on the pc it's piss easy. well I'm in london which is the last map I need before going to antartica so maybe this is the level that makes this game hard as balls but i dont think so since I'm already in the second part of london. tomb raider 4 is the hardest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I've ever played

The only tough thing in TR3 was the endboss; I nearly bursted with anger at that point. If you play TR4 blindly it IS pretty difficult, since some objective items are easy to miss and you have to backtrack all over again. The enemies are okay, the puzzles very well made and from time to time difficult to figure out. However, there are a lot of walkthroughs and guides out there which might help.

So yeah, in my opinion it might be the most difficult classic one. But overall: the story is damn amazing!

It's slightly under Tomb Raider III interms of difficulty. But Last Revelation is the better game IMO

Old post, but... I think the main difficulty with Tomb Raider 3 is the unbelievable complexity of some of its levels. Yet they somehow managed to keep it quite playable, and I rarely got stuck. But, I had to consult walkthroughs every now and then, which I didn't have to in the other Core Design Tomb Raiders. Sometimes, I even felt a bit trolled by the leve designers. 😉 It's as if they played a bit with the player on purpose... Oh, and the story and characters are beyond silly. Dunno if the story writers were on drugs or something...

Absolutely. Last Revelation is my 2nd favorite in the series, right after Tomb Raider 2. Well, maybe after Tomb Raider 1 as well.

Насколько я помню, мне 3 часть не особо сложно далась, вот 4 просто вынос мозга, ультрасложная игра, без туториалов пройти невозможно

Didn't remember receiving a notification for this comment but I was in London while typing that and my god those levels are horrible :bgt_laughter: really complex but Cairo still beats it in terms of difficulty. Cheers. Can't believe my comment is 9 years old...
dopo l'avvio il gioco va in crash
