When Purchasing this game, does it come with the level editor i hear about?

The Level Editor was originally sold with the PC version of Tomb Raider : Chronicles , but nowadays you can download it for free. Just google it and you'll find it.

And it is compatible with the steam version?

You don't need the game actually. If you use the plain level editor it comes with a lot of packages from tomb raider IV and can be started independently. It's possible to create a level for one of the other games but i don't know how to do that unfortunately. Also if you just want to play custom levels , most of the levels that came out in the last few years can be started from the folder and only require you to install the level editor anywhere.

Edit : Actually as far as i remember it's best to install it in your own documents folder somewhere so the program has all necessary rights.

There's also a fanmade editor for the first 3 games but it's unofficial.
